Meet Angel Taylor
Angel Taylor is the founder and editor-in-chief of Philly Local. With more than a decade of experience in media, entertainment, and journalism, Angel brings a strong foundation in storytelling to her work.
A graduate of Temple University’s Klein School of Media & Communications, she began her journey in 2011 and went on to earn an Emmy Award for Outstanding Trans-Media Sports Coverage as an associate producer for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Angel believes storytelling is most impactful when it elevates voices that often go unheard. Through Philly Local, she aims to provide a platform for those voices and document the culture of the city.
In 2017, Angel launched Philadelphia-based podcast All of the Above. Through the platform, she has interviewed prominent names in the music and entertainment industry, participating in red carpet coverage across Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. She has also partnered with major television networks and music labels to host virtual celebrity interviews, expanding access to exclusive conversations and bringing high-profile talent directly to her audience.

What began as a platform for conversations has grown into a publication that extends that same mission, bringing stories to life across print and digital. Through Philly Local, the voices, talent, and culture featured on the podcast and beyond are given a broader platform, creating a deeper connection to the city and the people shaping it.
The platform has served as a hub for promoting and highlighting local creatives, independent music artists, visual artists, entrepreneurs, authors, and Black-owned, small-owned and woman-owned businesses in the Philadelphia area.
