Philadelphia's Annual Community Appreciation Day Returns to Point Breeze August 29th

Fabolous, Remy Ma and SWV headline Philadelphia City Council President Kenyatta Johnson’s annual Community Appreciation Day

Philadelphia City Council President Kenyatta Johnson will host the annual Community Appreciation Day in Point Breeze on Saturday, August 29, bringing residents together for an afternoon of music, entertainment, family activities and community resources.

 

This year’s event, themed “Education Matters,” will highlight the importance of preparing Philadelphia’s young people for the school year ahead. Families can receive free bookbags and school supplies while supplies last.

 

The street festival will feature a lineup of live performances, including appearances by Fabolous, Remy Ma and SWV, along with performances from local artists. With more than 100 vendors expected, attendees can also explore local businesses and organizations throughout the festival.

 

Community Appreciation Day will offer plenty of activities for families and children. The event will include amusement rides, moon bounces, a game truck and youth dance contests. Food trucks will also be on-site.

 

The event will also connect residents with community resources, including a mobile health truck offering services and information.

 

Community Appreciation Day will take place from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, at Point Breeze Avenue and Tasker Street in Philadelphia.
