6th Annual Be Fruitful Conference + Warrior Walk Creates Safe Space for Women, Families and Communities During PCOS Awareness Month

Philadelphia nonprofit Barren Fruit brings women, families and healthcare experts together Sept. 25-27 for three days of reproductive health education, wellness, and community

September 1, 2026

PHILADELPHIA, PA — For years, Diona Murray silently carried the heartbreak of infertility, wondering if anyone truly understood what she was experiencing.

Today, thousands of women know they are not alone because she was brave enough to share her story.

Known throughout Philadelphia as "The Infertility Warrior," Murray transformed one of the most painful chapters of her life into a movement of hope, healing and advocacy through Barren Fruit, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women and families navigating infertility, reproductive health challenges and pregnancy loss.

Now in its sixth year, the Be Fruitful Conference + Warrior Walk returns Sept. 25-27 under the theme "Blooming into Harvest Season." This year’s gathering takes on added significance as Philadelphia joins communities across the country in commemorating America’s 250th anniversary, creating an opportunity to highlight the people and organizations helping build healthier, stronger and more connected communities.

Friday and Saturday programming will take place at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue, 4200 City Ave, followed by the Warrior Walk & Reflection on Sunday at Awbury Arboretum.

The three-day experience brings together women, men, families, healthcare professionals, therapists, wellness practitioners and community leaders for honest conversations about reproductive health, mental wellness and healing.

The conference takes place during PCOS Month, shining a spotlight on one of the most common yet misunderstood reproductive health conditions affecting millions of women. The weekend will also address infertility, fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, menopause, perimenopause, pregnancy loss and other reproductive health challenges that too often leave women searching for answers while suffering in silence.

"Too many women have been told to simply live with the pain, wait for answers or carry their grief quietly," said Diona Murray, founder of Barren Fruit. "Be Fruitful exists to remind every woman that she deserves to be seen, believed and supported. Healing doesn't happen in isolation. It happens when we find community, speak our truth and realize there are people willing to walk beside us every step of the journey. My hope is that every person who enters this space leaves knowing they are more than a diagnosis, they are worthy of hope, healing and a future filled with possibility."

The Be Fruitful Conference is designed as a healing-centered experience where education meets restoration.

Participants can engage in expert-led health panels, interactive workshops, wellness experiences and therapeutic activities created to nourish the mind, body and spirit. Family members, partners and supporters are also invited, recognizing that reproductive health impacts entire families and communities.

Programming includes:

  • Opening Night Reception on Friday, Sept. 25
  • The Wellness Experience on Saturday, Sept. 26
  • Warrior Walk & Reflection on Sunday, Sept. 27

Featured discussions include:

  • Whole Woman, Whole Care: Reproductive Health Across the Lifespan
  • More Than a Diagnosis: Infertility, Fibroids, Endometriosis, PCOS and Your Path Forward
  • Understanding Hormones, Perimenopause and Menopause
  • Body Literacy and Reproductive Wellness for Girls and Teens
  • Men’s Lounge, a dedicated men's wellness experience

The conference also features immersive wellness activations, including a Self-Care Lounge by BRWN GRL Wellness, Healing Stems Floral Bar by Pampas Plumes Co., herbal wellness experiences, food-as-medicine education and opportunities for reflection and restoration.

Featured speakers and facilitators include reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Jackie Gutmann, trauma therapist Majet Reyes, public health expert Christine Ivery, menopause specialist Dr. Deborah Roebuck, maternal wellness advocate Dr. Melieka Young, men's wellness advocate Brian F. Murray, along with artists, honorees and community leaders who use their voices to inspire healing.

The Be Fruitful Conference + Warrior Walk is made possible with support from organizations committed to advancing reproductive health, wellness and community. This year's major sponsors include every.body.advocacy, Jefferson Health and Cerene, whose support helps Barren Fruit expand access to education, resources and healing-centered experiences for women, families and communities navigating reproductive health challenges.

As conversations surrounding women's health continue to gain national attention, Murray hopes the conference reminds people that reproductive health is more than a medical issue; it's a community issue.

"Every woman deserves access to information, compassionate care and the freedom to advocate for her own health," Murray said. "When one woman finds healing, families become stronger, communities become healthier and future generations benefit."
